  • About Titanium
    • Titanium, or Ti (atomic #22) is known for its strength and low density, in fact it has the highest strength to weight ratio of any metal.
    • It’s as strong as steel but it’s a full 45% lighter.
    • It’s twice as strong as aluminium.
    • Ti is a ductile metal and is more forgiving than steel.
    • Its ductility is what delivers the famous ‘Ti ride’, perfectly suited for British roads.
    • It has excellent fatigue and crack resistance properties and will not snap in an accident or in handling.
    • Ti will not rust or corrode under any atmospheric conditions or even in contact with salt water.
    • Due to its unique combination of properties Ti is used extensively in the aerospace industry – an estimated 59 tons are used in a Boing 747 !
    • Ti is an English discovery, first found in Cornwall in 1791 by William Gregor.
