The intrepid trio (well Gary, Andrew Ishers and myself!) found our way to Auchentoshan for the latest round in the Scottish CX series. Just off the Erskine Bridge the course was set up to be the hardest test yet and so it proved…
In the Vets Gary and Andrew found that they were called to the grid on account of previous results and both started well…I was further back in amongst the back markers but after a congested first lap the race spread out along the tough 7 min course. A rain shower an hour before the start had softened up the mud and made falling off a little easier as I found out on the cross diagonal bank descent!
A great day was rounded off by watching the Seniors showing us how it should be done with local rider Calum McGowan racing well despite a couple of mechanicals and Davie Lines pulling wheelies at the top of the steep uphill bank.
